AWM/BCB Family STEM Night Prep Session

Family STEM Night, part of Mass STEM Week, is a free event hosted by the Worcester Boys & Girls Club and the Central MA STEM Network (CMSN) Ecosystem where children, youth, families, and the community can explore the wonders of STEM through hands-on activities, exhibits, and demonstrations presented by colleges, organizations, and businesses.

This year, the Association for Women in Mathematics (AWM) is collaborating with the Bioinformatics and Computational Biology Club (BCB) to run a hands-on exhibit to be featured at Family STEM Night.

The exhibit will be built around a DNA-inspired bracelet/keychain activity. In preparation for this event, we called on AWM and BCB Club members to help create sample bracelets and design an informational poster on the intersection between mathematics and biology. We set up in a tech suite in the Gordon Library on Monday evening and invited members to drop by anytime to help us prepare for this outreach opportunity.

Thanks to everyone who was able to join; your help was greatly appreciated!
