Engineering Leadership based on Systems Foundations (MS)

Demand is soaring for Engineering Leaders as organizations are recognizing that complex initiatives must be holistically designed and most importantly, managed. From developing and directing logistics, schedules, risks, and opportunities, to leading teams and coordinating operations, those skilled in Engineering Leadership can bring clarity and structure to any process.

Engineers who can effectively integrate the technical and human-centered processes of this multifaceted discipline is crucial to developing and deploying hyper-complex systems.

About the Program

WPI’s Engineering Leadership program is designed to give you the perfect blend of technology and leadership. This part-time program is designed for the working professional. From start to finish, you’ll enjoy courses that are delivered online so you can learn at your own pace, when it’s convenient for you.

Earn your graduate certificate on the way to earning your master’s.

Course content is focused on leadership, marketing, strategy and entrepreneurship, information technology, and technical courses in systems engineering and system dynamics – a nice balance and blend to benefit anyone who contributes to the engineering of systems. In addition, our courses deliver information in a way that allows immediate application into your organization.

Students will complete their program with a capstone course that gathers all the knowledge from the nine previous courses to give students the opportunity to enhance their leadership and people skills while working on a challenging technical project. Build connections with others across BAE in North America and set yourself up for success within the organization.

Learning Outcomes

  • Gain a breadth of knowledge in engineering, management, and leadership – you can manage resources, but you must lead people.
  • Non-engineers and others who contribute to engineering and project management efforts will also benefit from taking this program by gaining a breadth of knowledge and general awareness of engineering, management, and leadership techniques.
  • Learn to lead diverse teams by applying systems thinking and systems dynamics skills.
  • Students will be well on their way to becoming experts at leading people, as well as managing project resources.
  • Expand and rely on their business knowledge while learning how to design and maintain complex systems.
  • Learn how to better achieve cost and schedule objectives on multidisciplinary projects
  • Graduates deliver deep, lasting societal impacts that enhance their organization’s goals and results.

Logistics
