The Billiar Lab is active with teaching younger kids and training new students aspects of mechanobiology and heart research. Every summer, the lab teaches a visiting REU (Research Experience for Undergraduates) student. They work on their own project under the guidance of a Ph.D. student. Additionally, undergrads work in the lab where they gain important experience and knowledge in the mechanobiology field. Each school year, an MQP group (a group of seniors who do a research based project) does research in the lab and learns valuable techniques in the lab space.

Professor Billiar teaches biomechanics at all levels and currently teaches Biomechanics and Biofluids at the Sophomore level. Over the past 15 years, he has taught/developed many courses at WPI.
