Grand Challenge Scholars

The Grand Challenge Scholars Program, endorsed by the National Academy of Engineering, recognizes graduates who have connected multiple learning experiences to develop competency in five areas—research ability, multidisciplinary approaches and interdisciplinary perspectives, innovation and entrepreneurship mindset, global and intercultural competency, and social responsibility—all necessary to successfully address societal “grand challenges” in the areas of sustainability, health, security, and joy of living.
