MS Thesis

Timeline:

  • 1st or 2nd Semester
    • Complete a written Thesis Proposal and send it to BMEGradProgram@wpi.edu (no later than six months after selecting a Research Advisor or as soon as a line of research has been defined and there is evidence that the experimental protocols can be carried out and 10 days before proposal meeting.)
    • Schedule Proposal Meeting (90 minutes- 30-minute presentation and 30-60 minutes of Q&A/discussion) 
    • Register and develop syllabus for BME 599 (1-6 credits, 1 credit = 4 hr/week effort)
  • Final Semester:
    • Work with grad administrator to schedule Oral Defense
      • Final Oral Presentation- 90 minutes 
        • Public- 45 minutes- 30-minute presentation, 15-minute Q&A 
        • Closed-Door Session: 45 minutes for committee questions/defense
    • Submit ETD via eProjects
