Undergraduate Mentor Award:

BME Connects is designed to connect students with experienced peers who offer guidance and support. This program fosters connections within the BME department and provides students with assistance in both academic and extracurricular activities.  Our peer mentors are current students committed to helping incoming students navigate college life and the BME program.  The main goals of BME Connects are to provide additional support for new students and to build a stronger sense of community within the department.
Goals:
  • Support first and second year BME students by pairing them with peers who can help them adjust to life at WPI and Biomedical Engineering.
  • Foster an inclusive culture that bridges all class levels, encouraging collaboration and motivating students to succeed academically, socially, and personally.
  • Create a welcoming environment both within the BME department and across campus.
