A24-Dorchester-Bay-Project

Our Project

This project is focused on identifying and evaluating effective methods for assessing common spaces and designing environments that enhance the well-being of residents in subsidized housing at Dorchester Bay (Stanwood St.). The aim is not only to explore these methods but to determine the most promising ones and assess the requirements, advantages, and potential challenges of implementing them. To achieve this aim, we will complete three objectives.

About Our Sponsors

Throughout this project we worked with our sponsors Kindra Lansburg from the Boston Public Health Commission (BPHC) and Felicia Richard from the Dorchester Bay Economic Development Corporation (DBEDC). The BPHC, America’s oldest health department, operates independently with a mission to safeguard the well-being of all Bostonians, especially the vulnerable. The DBEDC strives to make more affordable housing, better public and private spaces, and increase the positive mental health of the residents in Dorchester Bay.

Project Outcomes

We produced a deliverable, in the form of a toolkit of ideas to help our sponsors identify and evaluate effective methods for assessing and designing common spaces that enhance the well-being of residents in affordable housing at Dorchester Bay.
