Welcome

Welcome to the home page for WPI’s Boston Project Center.

The Boston Project Center (BPC) brings students and faculty from Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) together with partners from government agencies, non-governmental organizations, businesses, and academic institutions in the Boston metropolitan area to collaborate on issues related to sustainability and climate change, the environment, and public health and safety. By addressing the technical and social (e.g. policy, financial, or educational) aspects of these issues, students help their partners develop solutions that are relevant and useful.

Through projects sponsored by the Boston Project Center (BPC), students benefit by obtaining real-world experience and developing skills of team work and research while working on a project with policy and social relevance. By addressing the technical and social (e.g. policy, financial, or educational) aspects of pressing challenges, students help their develop sophisticated, practical and socially acceptable solutions to the issues or problems of concern. A typical outcome of a project is a project report.  If requested, student often provide other deliverables, such as websites, brochures, curricula and other materials.
