What is the study?
The goal of the study is to compile longitudinal diaries of young adults experiencing the COVID-19 crisis during the year 2020.
You don’t have to be a young adult to participate! We are collecting daily responses from anyone over the age of 18.
The Daily Diary will survey the thoughts, feelings, and behaviors of young adults and other various age ranges (18 and over) across the United States during the COVID-19 pandemic over a period of 3-4 weeks. This research is aimed to provide future studies with accurate and understandable psychological data and analysis.
But how can I help?
It’s simple! Every day, or as often as you can, fill out our Daily Diary. This survey tool will track the young adult population’s mental health, feelings, and motivations over the remainder of this crisis. This open-sourced data is vital into understanding the overarching impacts of a sustained global crisis.

What is the “Collective Story”?
The Collective Story is where the WPI research team will post daily statistical updates. It will showcase all of the subjects in a simple to understand data set.
Who can use this data?
Anyone! After all you can’t have data analysis without data! This study has the unique opportunity to gather a wide range of statistical data for a variety of research.
What is a Longitudinal Diary?
A longitudinal diary is used to track the daily holistic responses of subjects. Subjects will be asked to agree to complete the diary every day for 21-28 days. This longitudinal process, involving a ‘consistent and constant’ group of people, allows researchers to track the daily variation of thoughts, feelings and behaviors of the same subjects over a period of time. The longitudinal diary has been placed on the Qualtrics Platform.
The questions appearing on the longitudinal diary will be re-randomized every day in an effort to ensure mindful answers and deter automatic or unmindful answers.
