The panel will be held on Friday, June 5, from 9:45 – 10:45am. In addition, WPI is sponsoring the MLI Networking Reunion taking place on Tuesday, June 2, from 1:00 – 4:00pm. Find out more about the conference.

Diversity Networking Night

WPI is hosting a Diversity Networking Night on April 16 from 5:00 – 8:00 pm. This event is sponsored by the CDC, the National Society of Black Engineers, Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers, Graduate Student Government, Alliance, and Chinese Student Association. We encourage you to attend the event to speak with students, alumni, and other professionals about what diversity means in the workplace while enjoying some light refreshments! If you have any questions or are interested in attending, please contact Bailey Rand, Recruiting Coordinator, at brand@wpi.edu.

Worcester Consortium Career Fair

Did you miss our Spring Career Fair? Are you still seeking talent for open positions? The Worcester Consortium Career Fair on April 9 is a wonderful opportunity to meet and recruit students seeking internships and full-time jobs. Drawing from 12 outstanding institutions of higher education, the fair attracts hundreds of enthusiastic, talented candidates. These well-educated graduates offer many of today’s most in-demand skills—the skills needed to stay ahead in an increasingly competitive marketplace. Find out more about the fair.

Engage with the CDC on Social Media

The WPI social media team is seeking to increase interaction between students and employers through our social media platforms this spring. During the week of April 20, we are helping students prepare for their summer internships. During the week of May 4, we are targeting graduating students by focusing on the transition from WPI to the “real world.” If you are interested in collaborating with us for these efforts by offering advice to increase company visibility, please email Bailey Rand at brand@wpi.edu.

Seeking a WPI Alumni to Volunteer with the CDC

The CDC offers a course for undecided first year students to support the selection of majors and careers, FY1800: Discovering Majors and Careers. As part of this course, each year student is matched with a WPI alumni to facilitate an informational interview (pdf). The CDC is looking for alumni volunteers who can provide insight into their majors at WPI, share their career history, provide information on their current roles, companies, and industries, and answer any additional questions. The time commitment is about 20-30 minutes via telephone, Skype, or in person if you are local and interested in that option. For more information or to sign up, contact Maggie Becker at mrbecker@wpi.edu.

Sponsor a Project

Each year, hundreds of WPI students undertake their Major Qualifying Projects, or MQP’s, with the assistance of corporate sponsors. WPI is currently looking for companies that are interested in sponsoring projects for the next academic year (April-Aug cycle). Each company would also need to appoint a corporate liaison who can work with a faculty member and student team throughout the project duration. If you are interested, please reply back to David Ortendahl, Director of Corporate Relations via dbo@wpi.edu.
