REU participant present at WPI Undergraduate Research Showcase 2022

STEM Career Explorations 2022: REU & Girls Inc
This year’s week-long session of introducing a cohort of 8th grade Girls, Inc. Eureka! program students was a resounding success and lots of fun!
REU participants developed games and interactive activities (Guess My Profession, STEM Bingo, others), many interactive demonstrations from different STEM fields related to renewable energy, and even led younger students on a scavenger hunt through WPI campus, searching for landmarks as well as scientists and engineers ‘in their natural habitat’.
Summer 2021
COVID did not stop us from having a great summer filled with science, fun and making new friends! Unfortunately, Girls, Inc outreach program was remote but REU student from Goshen College, IN Emma Burton helped make it happen along with WPI students Morgan Kaler and Melina Welch. In addition to carrying out cutting edge research, REU students had an opportunity to share their passion for STEM and environment with Worcester Girls, Inc students. Everyone had a blast!
REU Site is funded!
April 5, 2019. National Science Foundation has awarded funding to a new REU Site at WPI: Developing a Clean Energy Future with Underserved Students. We will host our first cohort of students June-August 2019. REU participants will join interdisciplinary research teams of WPI Energy Research Group. Stay tuned for a link to apply!
