Visitor Reservation System
Glacier National Park is one most visited parks in America every year. Whether international tourists or a local family on vacation, people come to Glacier to experience the extraordinary landscapes and soundscapes. Due to record crowds and the steady increase in annual visitation, officials at Glacier National Park are exploring solutions to overwhelmed and overcrowded facilities. WPI is working with Glacier National Park to explore the feasibility and strategies for implementing a reservation system intended to control access to the park. Arches, Zion, and Haleakala National Parks have already developed proposals for reservation systems or have actually implemented reservation systems. The WPI team is exploring, investigating, and proposing various options and solutions for implementing reservation systems for specific districts in Glacier.
