WPI Fitness Competition: A Team Challenge for faculty and staff
April 1st – April 30th
Sponsored by the Healthy Herd
Step 1: Sign up for a team through the Healthy Herd Blog. Each team will have a captain who will guide and motivate you along the way. You can create your own team and designate a captain, or sign up for a team that already exists. Teams will have no more than 5 people, including the captain.
Step 2: For each day of April that you exercise for 30 minutes or more, you will earn one point. Bonus points can be earned for working out on campus or with your teammates. (Your captain will log your team’s points).
Step 3: Claim your prizes! Prizes will be awarded to teams with the most points after 10, 20, and 30 days.
If you are interested in being a team captain, please email Elizabeth Jacoby at erjacoby@wpi.edu.
This program involves 6 meetings, once per week and involves light homework and one phone interview. There is a tremendous amount of evidence to support mindfulness and meditation practices in myriad domains. As a result, the reasons individuals are drawn to explore these practices are varied. For some individuals it’s the desire to focus on academics, sports, or other professional performance. For others, it is to support work on a particular health concern, reduce stress, or simply feel a greater sense of balance. For more information, visit our website.
