Welcome to the Yang Lab at WPI. We are an interdisciplinary research group with expertise in mechanics, materials, and biotechnology. The current research focuses on the multiscale design and development of bio-interfacing materials and systems with integrated properties and functionalities for healthcare and sustainability. We also aim to gain a fundamental understanding of the mechanics and physics of bio-interfacing material systems and their interactions with environments across different length scales. We further use the understanding to develop new technologies for a variety of medical and engineering applications including implantable materials and devices, bioadhesives, and anti-biofouling coatings.
