Jiawei Yang is an assistant professor in the Department of Mechanical and Materials Engineering at WPI. He received his Ph.D. and M.S. in Engineering Sciences from Harvard University in 2019 and 2016, D.ENG. and B.E. in Engineering Mechanics from Tongji University in 2015 and 2009. The Yang lab is a highly interdisciplinary research group, centering on the junction of mechanics, materials, and biotechnology, aiming to develop soft, bio-functional implant systems for healthcare and medical sustainability, using multiscale material design and engineering.
