Jiawei Yang is an assistant professor in the Department of Mechanical and Materials Engineering and the Department of Biomedical Engineering at WPI. He received his Ph.D. in Engineering Sciences from Harvard University, and D.ENG. and B.E. in Engineering Mechanics from Tongji University, Shanghai, China. The research in the Yang group merges material design, implant mechanics, and bio-interaction control and modulation. The goal of research is to develop deep-tissue bio-functional implant systems for advancing implantable therapeutics to benefit patients living with implanted materials and devices.
