Jiawei Yang (Principal Investigator)

Jiawei Yang is an assistant professor in the Department of Mechanical and Materials Engineering and the Department of Biomedical Engineering at WPI. He received his Ph.D. and M.S. in Engineering Sciences from Harvard University, and D.Eng and B.E. in Engineering Mechanics from Tongji University, China. The research in the Yang group merges multiscale material design and engineering, chemical principles, soft material science, and bioengineering. The goal of research is to develop deep-tissue bio-functional and biosensing soft implant systems for advancing implantable therapeutics to benefit patients living with implanted materials and devices.

Jiatai Sun obtained his BS and MS in Materials Science and Engineering from Hohai University, China.
His research focuses on developing bioadhesive implants and bio-functional coatings.

His research focuses on developing eel-skin-inspired antibiofouling heterogeneous coatings.
