Dear Alumni,

As we experience the long, dark days of winter in Worcester, there’s no shortage of bright and exciting goings on taking place on The Hill.

Of particular note is Beyond These Towers: The Campaign for Worcester Polytechnic Institute, which recently helped WPI achieve the milestone fundraising goal of $42 million last fiscal year, exceeding the goal by $2 million. It is currently only $70 million away from achieving the overall campaign goal. Thank you to the many alumni who support this great university so generously.

Some of you may have heard the exciting news that Reunion Weekend is moving. After an extensive review of feedback from alumni and the campus community, WPI’s own data, and examples of successful approaches from our peer institutions, WPI is combining its class reunion celebrations with Homecoming, beginning in fall 2025. Please hold the dates of Sept. 26–28, 2025. In other exciting news, A-Term saw WPI launch its new master’s degree programs in artificial intelligence, financial technology, and global health. And major milestones were reached for the Global Projects Program and the Social Science & Policy Studies Department, which each celebrated 50th anniversaries, as well as the Interactive Media and Game Development Program, which celebrated its 20th anniversary.

President Wang joined a distinguished panel of experts at the Boston Globe’s Globe Summit, which celebrated individuals and organizations driving forward-thinking solutions and transformative advancements across all areas of expertise. Her session explored how universities can empower students from all disciplines to thrive in an AI-driven future.

WPI earned the Award for Undergraduate Research Accomplishments, which celebrates WPI’s culture of innovation, inquiry, and academic excellence, and the NASFA Senator Paul Simon Spotlight Award for Campus Internationalization for the university’s ongoing efforts to infuse international, intercultural, and global dimensions into its ethos.

The WPI Alumni Association Board of Directors continues its work with strategic priorities: Value of WPI, Students-to-Alumni Journey, Alumni-Driven Events, and Strategic Volunteer Stewardship. I’d like to thank the Board for their servant leadership and time, talent, and treasure! We couldn’t do it without each of you.

We are proud to offer regional alumni-driven events. So far, the events have been in Los Angeles, Tucson, Ariz., Chicago, Seattle, Portland, Ore., Washington, D.C., Denver, Boston, Portsmouth, N.H., and New York City. If you are interested in hosting one, please email: alumni-office@wpi.edu.

To all alumni: We are as strong as our relationships with one another and the impact we have on the world. Please get involved!

Pamela
