The Many Ways to Connect and Give Back

It was exciting to see so many of you at Homecoming Weekend during the first combined Reunion and Homecoming event on The Hill. If you missed it, the Decades Dance was an especially fun-filled event, where the music of our college years lulled all into shared and joyful nostalgia. Plans are already underway for Homecoming 2026, so keep an eye out for the save-the-date notification.

The Alumni Association Board of Directors continues to work toward its mission of being an advocate for the alumni body and connecting alumni with WPI and one another in support of the university. As we plan the new year, one thing we remain excited about is connecting alumni through Gathering Our Herd events. If you’d like to volunteer as a host and bring alumni together for a Gathering Our Herd event in your area, we are here to help! For more information, please email me at arly.dungca@gmail.com.

Over my years of active involvement with the university, I’ve had the pleasure of witnessing the many ways we, as alumni, give back. From panel discussions, guest lectures, and student mentoring to judging research projects, connecting students to industry, and even helping first-year students on Move-in Day, there are many ways you can support your WPI community. To help you find your special place back on campus, we are working closely with the Office of Lifetime Engagement to develop enhanced opportunities, processes, and recognition for alumni volunteers. Watch for more information in the new year. Beyond financial support, please consider sharing your time, talent, and ties with your alma mater.

Please note this year’s Goat Nation Giving Challenge (GNGC) will kick off on March 23. All gifts to the weeklong giving program support WPI athletics. Last year, almost $300,000 was raised—the most ever! As alumni, please consider supporting GNGC. If you were a student athlete, you can not only support your team directly but also set up a giving challenge or match to encourage your teammates to give, too.

On behalf of the Alumni Association Board of Directors, I send our very best wishes for a happy and healthy holiday season and new year.
