Technical Skills for Future Innovations

RPI__039(1)Do you have the technical skills needed to participate in future innovation at RTX? Equip yourself with the knowledge and expertise RTX senior management is looking for with the WPI Manufacturing Engineering Graduate Certificate, co-designed by WPI professors and RTX Senior Fellows. The online graduate certificate is custom-designed to provide you with the most current information about manufacturing best-practices. In addition, you’ll learn how to process materials used at RTX, and the processes used by RTX partners, to help you become more efficient in maintaining and meeting standards.

This is WPI’s 12th cohort of this certificate with RTX. All four courses roll into a Master’s degree in either Manufacturing Engineering or Materials Science Engineering.

Program Logistics:

  • Enrollment: This program begins in April 2023, enroll today! – Enrollment Deadline: Friday, February 3rd 2023
  • Classes are delivered online, asynchronous
  • Students take one 10-week course per semester, four semesters per calendar year
  • The entire certificate is completed in 12 months
  • All four courses roll into a Master’s degree in either Manufacturing Engineering or Materials Science Engineering

Courses

Each course is 3 credits each, for a total of 12 credits for the certificate:

  • MTE 594. Principles of Metallurgy

  • MFE 594L. Manufacturing Processes I: Heat Treating, Forging/Forming and Powder Processing

  • MFE 594M. Manufacturing Processes II: Casting, Joining and Direct Digital Manufacturing

  • MFE 594N. Manufacturing Processes III: Coating and Surface Treatments

Prerequisites

Admission Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in science, engineering, or management, preferably in such fields as computer science/engineering, electrical/ control engineering, industrial engineering, environmental engineering, manufacturing engineering, materials science and engineering, mechanical engineering, or management with a minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher.
