SKI EDGE PROJECT

Participating Professors: Professor Brown
Student Research Assistants: Bronwen Chilton and Shu Guo

An investigation of ski edge characteristics, with particular interest in ski tuning technology.

Following recent tragedies in the ski racing community involving athletes being lacerated by ski edges, students at the Surface Metrology Lab are interested in the characteristics of ski edges. Of particular interest are recent developments in ski tuning technology. This research aims to determine if recently popularized tuning machines are contributing to the sharp increase in ski edge-related injuries.
