About the car:

The EV-1 was the first mass produced electric car. Produced by GM from 1996-1999, there were about 1,100 units made. However in 2002, the cars were recalled and scrapped, and the program was discontinued. Only 40 cars were spared for institutions.

While not the most elegant of cars, WPI is a proud owner of this piece of history.
