Alone together and better together. Faced with the largest pandemic yet with millions of cases, we are desperately called for social and mask wearing. A simple task that our country is struggling with. This is not just to protect ourselves but the people around us. We are in the midst of our biggest test yet for humanity. A test that we are failing and our only hope for people like me, with underlying health concerns, is a vaccine. I felt so alone during this time, but the thing is we are not. Yes, we may feel alone but we are also in this together distancing. Each one of us has a role to play. To say that one individual’s actions do not matter in the bigger scheme of things is naive. This pandemic proves just how much one person can leave an impact on a whole community. Whether it be public health, systematic racism, rape culture, mental health, each one of us has a responsibility to do something about it regardless of how small it may seem. The simple truth of our reality is that each one of us is in this together even if we are alone.
