We all hear that climate change is melting the ice caps and making it more difficult for polar bears, fewer know that it is killing the ocean itself. This is in spite of the fact that among other things, it has led to the death of the majority of the Great Barrier Reef, a wonder of the world. Increased temperatures and more common El Niño cycles due to climate change has led to increased coral bleaching and as a result, mass coral die-offs. This has dire implications for those dependent on the ocean for food or income.
