Cecilia Borgonovo wins at GRAD 2011 and Innovation Presentation Competition
A two-day celebration of graduate research and discovery occurs each spring at WPI. The GRAD 2011 event consisted of two components: a poster session and the Innovation Presentation Competition. Among the 240 master’s and PhD candidates presenting their research was one our MPI students – Cecilia Borgonovo. Her presentation, “A Novel Method for Manufacturing Aluminum-Aluminum Nitride Nanocomposites,” won her 3rd place during the poster session.
She was then invited to present at the Innovation Presentation Competition. Each presenter made a five-minute pitch–without PowerPoint or props–to a panel of judges that included entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, and business executives. Awards were presented to the students who presented the most marketable ideas and did so most effectively. Congratulations to Cecilia who was again awarded third prize!
