CR3 Adds Four New Research Projects

CR3 Adds Four New Research Projects

During the CR3 Annual Spring Meeting, four new research projects were introduced:

  1. Online Slag and Bullion Analysis by LIBS
Objective: to explore the accuracy and robustness of LIBS for Cu, Pb slag or fayalitic slag and bullion analysis
  2. Recovery of Valuable Metals from Flue Dust and Other Fines from Mechanical Treatment of e‐Scrap
Objective: to recover value-added metals and materials from Flue Dust and Other Fines from Mechanical Treatment of e-Scrap
  3. Hydrometallurgical Treatment of e‐Scrap
Objective: to develop a process to economically recycle e scrap utilizing hydrometallurgy
  4. Battery Design for Disassembly in Support of Materials Reuse
Objective: to develop the EV battery design for disassembly to support reuse of materials

These projects will add to the current portfolio of projects which include:

  1. Rare Earth Metals Recovery from Bauxite Residue
  2. Recovery of Valuable Metals from Fines
  3. Reuse Opportunities for BauxiteResidue
  4. Scrap Characterization
  5. Synthesis of Inorganic Polymers from Metallurgical Residues
  6. Value Recovery from Mining Wastes
