WPI Awarded 2016 Bernard M. Gordon Prize
The National Academy of Engineering (NAE) announced that WPI is being recognized with one of the most prestigious awards in engineering education – the 2016 Bernard M. Gordon Prize for Innovation in Engineering and Technology Education. NAE bestowed this $500,000 prize to WPI for its project-based engineering curriculum developing leadership, innovative problem solving, interdisciplinary collaboration and global competencies.
The award specifically recognizes four outstanding faculty members, including Diran Apelian, Director of the Metal Processing Institute, for driving innovation in curriculum and for inspiring greatness from both students and colleagues. Also recognized from WPI are Art Heinricher, Rick Vaz and Kris Wobbe.
The award ceremony will take place on April 15, 2016.
