We will be studying the effects of vape pods on brain and behavior, testing nicotine pods on worm behavior, and doing potential calcium imaging. This is connected to brain development, natural antioxidants improving stress, and using easy to procure extracts.

Teacher Component: The teacher will choose one line of questioning from the topics listed. They will work with the graduate students to perform the experiments in the laboratory. The teacher will delve into topics of neuroscience and behavior. The teacher and PI will develop a subset of related experiments that can be investigated in a classroom lab. The experiments will be suited for a high school biology class and will be aligned with the course objectives and learning outcomes.
