Welcome Middle-School Teachers!
The WPI Research Experience for Teachers program began today at the Life Sciences and Bioengineering Center. Eight middle-school teachers will be spending the next 6 weeks working on a hands-on laboratory project with WPI faculty and graduate students. Projects this year include topics such as “Design of a Microthread Crosslinking Device” with Professor George Pins and PhD student Jon Grasman, “Design of a Device to Spin Cell Loaded Sutures” by Professor Glenn Gaudette and PhD student Katrina Hansen, as well as other engineering design projects related to bioengineering. Teachers will also develop a curriculum unit for use in their middle-school classrooms during the upcoming school year.
