Professor Apelian To Serve on Organizing Committee for REWAS 2013

Diran Apelian, Director of MPI, has accepted an invitation to participate in the International Scientific Organizing Committee for REWAS2013. REWAS2013, the Global Symposium on Recycling, Waste Treatment and Clean Technology: Enabling Materials Resource Sustainability, will provide an interdisciplinary and multi- disciplinary platform where the materials and metallurgical professional can interact and exchange with other stakeholders and research fields to facilitate the transition to a more sustainable industry and society. By taking a material-focused perspective as well as a product-focused perspective bridges between the two can be forged. The symposium will be organized along four themes: enabling sustainability, measuring sustainability, sustainable technologies, and sustainability in education.
