Pro Tip Tuesday: Adding a web resource to your course menu

Do you have a website or web resource that should be prominently featured in your Canvas course navigation menu?  You can add one using the Redirect Tool app.

1. Click Settings and select Apps, and then search for the term Redirect tool.
2. Open the Redirect tool and click Add App.
3. In the Add App dialog box:
   1. In the “Name” field, enter the name of the web resource you want to appear in the course navigation.
   2. In the “URL Redirect” field, enter the URL of the website or page.
   3. Click the checkbox for Force open in new tab (if desired)
   4. Click the checkbox for Show in Course Navigation.
   5. Click Add App.
4. To see the web resource link in the course navigation, refresh the page
5. Click the new link to test it.
6. You may choose where the link appears in your navigation menu by going to Settings -> Navigation.
