Pro Tip Tuesday: Hide Total Scores in Gradebook

There’s a few reasons why you might not want students to see their grade summary or final scores in Canvas. And luckily, there’s a way to hide it! You might not have discovered this option, as it’s not actually located in the Grades area of your course. It’s actually in the Settings area.

To hide the Total column, enter your course site and click on Settings.

Click on the Course Details tab.

Scroll down and click on More Options.

Click the checkbox to select Hide totals in students grades summaries.

Click Update Course Details.
