Pro Tip Tuesday: Everything is Wiki-fied

Filed in Canvas by on October 31, 2017

Did you know that all Pages in Canvas are wikis (aka editable by everyone)?

The Pages area in Canvas is great for collecting resources and creating content in your Canvas site. However, it can also be a collaborative “wiki” space for you and your students.  It even records all revision history just like Wikipedia.

To set up a Wiki in Canvas, simply create a new page by going to Pages > View All Pages > +Page

Then add in your content.

Scroll to the bottom of the page and find the area labeled Options

Options under Page

Click the drop-down menu and select Teachers and Students

Teachers and Students Can Edit

Click Save and Publish

Now you have a page that is editable by both teachers and students in your course site. Go ahead and add this page to your Modules, or create more pages and link them together using the Content Selector to create a more complex Wiki site! The possibilities are endless.  Need more ideas on how this can be used? Check out Canvas’ blog post on Wikis or reach out to the ATC-TTL team for a brainstorming session.
