Massachusetts STEM Week 2023 takes place from October 16 – 20, 2023

A statewide effort to boost the interest, awareness and ability for all learners to envision themselves in STEM education and employment opportunities and complement the formal instruction happening in the Commonwealth beyond STEM week. The Central MA events listed below are either Public or Private:

We are looking for industry partners, schools, libraries, organizations and/or after school programs to join us in planning impactful activities or events during STEM Week!  Let us know what you are planning so we can promote it and report it to the state! Schools should also share any events or activities that are part of their curriculum. We want to recognize all the work you to do promote STEM learning!

One of the most important molecular shapes in chemistry is aromatic molecules, extremely stable rings of carbons surrounded by hydrogen. Andrew Burkhardt of Worcester State University will discuss how we use radio and infrared telescopes, state-of-the-art computation simulations, and chemical labs here on Earth to study where these rings in space are and how they got there.

An Engineering Lesson Library for PK-7 Educators

Bring STEM to your classroom during STEM Week 2023! The I am STEM – STEM I am Lesson Library engages students, grades PK-7, in solving problems in books and is designed to empower students to become proud problem solvers. With continued support from the Massachusetts STEM Advisory Council, the library has 8 new lessons and now includes more lessons for grades 6 and 7.
