Abstract
Melbourne, Australia frequently experiences water shortages and is just recovering from the worst drought since colonization. Many technologies for water conservation are available to Melbournians, but have not been widely accepted or implemented. In this project, our IQP team worked with the Centre for Education and Research in Environmental Strategies (CERES) to create educational resources for residents with the goal of motivating behavioural changes towards enhanced water conservation. By analysing and combining results from interviews of experts and staff members, surveys from visitors, and a review of literature, we developed content and designs for a suite of signs and webpages for use at CERES as well as recommendations for their implementation.
