Welcome to the…
The SEED Lab studies health, health behaviors, and health equity from a biopsychosocial perspective. Our work explores the intersection of psychological factors (i.e. stress and health behaviors), biological factors (i.e. cortisol and inflammation), and social factors (i.e. stigma and discrimination), and the bidirectional – and even cyclical – relationships among these factors.
As a Health Psychology research lab, our work is naturally transdisciplinary. We look at all levels of health across the lifespan from psychological to behavioral to cellular health. Our goals are to (a) advance knowledge directly relevant to overall health and health equity in today’s world and (b) train the next cohort of scientists in multidisciplinary methodology to continue the forward momentum of our work.
