New Gradebook – It’s official!

New Gradebook interface

Happy July 3rd everyone, the day you’ve been waiting for has arrived and New Gradebook is here!

We’ve decided to adopt a 2-phase roll out for New Gradebook. We enabled the new interface for all future Canvas course sites (A19 and later). If you’re teaching in E19 you will still be able to use the old Gradebook. Interested in using New Gradebook for your Summer course? You can enable it on a course-by-course basis using the below instructions, or email us and we’ll enable it for you.

Teaching in A19, B19, F19 and later

If you’re teaching in the 2019-2020 school year, you’ll now see the New Gradebook tool in your Canvas course site.

Teaching in E19

If you’re currently teaching in E19, you have the choice to enable the New Gradebook for your course site.  Here’s how to do it:

  • In your course site, click on Settings
  • Locate the top menu, then click on the Feature Options tab
  • Find New Gradebook in the list and click the toggle to the “on” position
  • Refresh the page and click on the Feature Options tab again
  • Find Final Grade Override in the list and click the toggle to the “on” position
  • That’s it! Click on Grades and check it out!
