Wachusett Meadow Wildlife Sanctuary: Establishing Engineering in Elementary Instruction

Project Sponsor: Wachusett Meadow Wildlife Sanctuary

Mass Audubon is a nonprofit organization that aims to expand conservation efforts across the state.  Wachusett Meadow is a wildlife sanctuary that is part of Mass Audubon and located in Princeton, Massachusetts.  Wachusett Meadow provides science related instruction, to people of all ages, that directly applies the nature seen and observed at the sanctuary.  The Third grade students at Clinton Elementary School take an annual field trip to the sanctuary to work on a design challenge.  The goal of the education program at the sanctuary is to get the students outside to enjoy nature and learn new things about their environment.
