The BETC also gives graduate students and faculty the unique opportunity to further their research in a scalable manufacturing facility. Researchers developing therapeutic compounds can partner with the BETC to test their processes in our production plant, using state-of-the-art equipment and instrumentation under the guidance of WPI faculty and industry professionals with directly relevant expertise.

Online & Blended Graduate Programs

MS in Biotechnology

WPI’s online MS degree in Biotechnology is a skills-focused, non-thesis degree program that offers a broad base in the technical knowledge and lab training needed for professional careers in the biotech industry. This blended program combines online coursework with onsite lab sessions at WPI’s Worcester, MA, campus. Lab requirements vary by course and are scheduled to accommodate working professionals.

MEng in Biomedical Engineering

WPI’s online Master of Engineering program in biomedical engineering (BME) prepares graduates to enter the workforce with deeper technical knowledge and the skillset for leadership and innovation in the industry. Students acquire an understanding of business practices, regulations, and controls in the biomedical industry. Courses are delivered online to accommodate students working full-time.
