Pro Tip Tuesday: Use keyboard shortcuts to save time grading

Did you know that you can use keyboard shortcuts to navigate your Grades area and Speedgrader? Check out how to use these huge time savers!

While on the Grades or Speedgrader screens in your course site, press the comma key and a pop-up window with keyboard shortcuts will appear for keyboard navigation.  Or, reference the below screen shots of the shortcut keys!

In Gradebook – use the following shortcuts to quickly navigate your spreadsheet/grid.

s : Sort the grid on the current active column
m : Open the menu for the active column’s assignment
esc : Close the currently active assignment menu
g : Go to the current assignment’s detail page
c : Comment on the active submission

Note: Press the escape key before using keyboard shortcuts when navigating the gradebook grid.

In Speedgrader – use these shortcuts to grade assignments quickly!

j : Next student
k : Previous student
c : Leave comment
g : Change grade
r : Use rubric
