The PW program is pleased to announce that the winner of the WPI Provost’s MQP Award for the most outstanding project in Professional Writing for 2021 is Nasim Mansuri for her project entitled Best Practices for Adapting Manufacturing Documentation, advised by Professor Lewis.

Nasim’s project compiled a set of best practices for adapting documentation through interviews with professionals in the manufacturing industry. It illustrated how many companies across the United States structure their documentation adaptation process, the common strengths and challenges they face, and the influence of federal regulations on their decisions. Best practices related to knowledge management, quality control, distribution, and technical writing were then applied to the adaptation of a Matisse operation manual chapter into an SSOP for use at a Frito-Lay manufacturing plant.

We are also pleased to announce the winners of two other MQP awards: the Outstanding MQP in the Medical Humanities and the Outstanding MQP in Technical Writing. The winners for the Outstanding MQP in the Medical Humanities are Shanna Bonanno and Mark Bray for their project titled Epidemiological Analysis of Gastro-Intestinal Diseases in Northern New York Hospitals, advised by Professor Faber. The winner for the Outstanding MQP in Technical Writing is Jacqueline Cardin for her project titled Analysis on Water Quality: Pharmaceutical Concentration and Community Communication, advised by Professor Madan.
