2020 Projects

In B term 2020 (October 21-December 11), Professor Dominic Golding advised five student teams conducting projects with the Nantucket Department of Culture and Tourism, the Nantucket Energy Office, the Nantucket Historical Association, the Nantucket Natural Resources Department, and the Nantucket Town Manager’s Office.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions we were not able to visit the island and all the projects were conducted remotely.  The students did a fantastic job accommodating to the restrictions, but we could not have done the projects at all without all the help from so many people on island.

We would like to thank all our project sponsors for making these collaborative research opportunities available to our students.  We would also like to thank the Civic League, Town administration, and Nantucket Island Chamber of Commerce for distributing the student surveys and Nantucket Community Television (NCTV18) for airing the final presentations.  Finally, thanks to all those who participated in interviews with the students and those who took the time to complete their surveys.
