Skills to land you a job

Filed in From the Staff by on January 25, 2012

I remember when I went for one of my first job interviews this year, the employer told me he chose me because of my experience, GPA and leadership. I believe those are some of the most important aspects of how you’re skills are represented. However, these aspects are not the only skills that will get you a job. I am a mechanical engineer and am attempting to broaden my knowledge of software as it will create more opportunities. Therefore, I’m trying to educate myself in programs such as SolidWorks, Matlab, AutoCad, Pro/Engineer and even programming languages such as C and C++. Whether in class or maybe on your own, I recommend you learn programs relevant to your major. Sometimes experience with one of these programs is enough to land you that job.
