What if…?

Do you ever wonder if whether the major you have chosen in college was the right one? Do you ever think “what if I had been a so and so and did this rather than that?”.  I’m a senior here and those thoughts sometimes cross my mind. I wonder if instead of going into the Biology field I should have gone into the Managment field.

The CDC runs a class, called Discovering Majors and Careers, for students who are undecided about their majors. I have been a TA for that class and have helped out with various things one of which was setting up panels for the students. These panels consisted of seniors talking about their majors and different internship positions they have had in the past. Hearing everyone talk about their experience made me wonder more about other options that I had never explored.

Why am I talking about all of this? Well I have decided I want to explore other careers, and the best way for me to do that would be by networking and talking to professionals.  I can do that by signing up for the Star Mentor program as well as Alumni Connect. Now that I am a senior I can register to Alumni Connect and talk to WPI Alumni and inquire about anything I need.

So if any of you are curious about other majors or any career in particular, remember you also have access to these resources. Make use of them!
