Importance of Getting Involved

Although the school year has only recently begun and I am already noticing how busy I am. While IQP accounts for a substantial amount, I try to be involved with campus life. Whether, in a sports team, a governance association, a professional society or simply a club you enjoy, it is important to be active on campus.
Through these campus clubs and organizations you are able to gain experience, work in teams and they are usually a lot of fun. But you can really explore your interests and work on projects that could perhaps take part in your future. In addition, you can build connections with students and professors and gain experience that can be applied toward jobs. You gain skills in leadership and teamwork among other skills that enhance your resume. Ultimately these clubs could be the experience you need to land you a internship.
