Upcoming Graduate & Professional School Fair

Filed in From the Staff, Graduate School by on November 6, 2015

Hey Everyone!

I hope B-Term is off to a great start! I can’t believe I only have three terms left at WPI…it’s really scary! All my senior friends are talking about what they hope to do after college. Many of them are trying to find their “dream job,” but others are not quite ready for the real world yet. They are looking to continue their education. But you don’t have to be a senior to start thinking about furthering your education!

There is a new event this year that hopes to help cater to the growing population of students interested in going to Graduate and Professional Schools. The Graduate & Professional School Fair, co-sponsored by the Office of Academic Advising, is scheduled to take place this Friday, November 13th from 10am-1pm in the Campus Center Odeum. Much like the college fairs you went to in high school, this is your chance to learn about what Graduate and Professional Programs are out there.

There is an opportunity to pre-register for this fair on Thursday, November 12 from 9am-4pm in the CDC or the Office of Academic Advising. An up to date list of graduate schools attending can be found in the “Events” tab of Job Finder.

So, WHY go to Grad School?

  1. You get to focus in on an area of study you’re interested in!
  2. You’ll be more noticed and a have a greater sense of credibility in today’s competitive job market!
  3. Ability to earn a higher salary!
  4. Gain greater career advancement!
  5. Be eligible for more exciting job opportunities…

…And the list continues on from there! Grad school is not for everyone, but it is something you may want to consider. Check out this CDC tipsheet for additional information on reasons to go to grad school, and on how to start researching and applying for the program that most interests you!

So whether you’re are super interested in Grad School, or have a few hours free this Friday and want to productively kill some time, stop by the Graduate & Professional School Fair! I hope to see you all there!

Until Next Time,

Gianna
