A fun-filled summer and now back for more…!

Hi all,

My name is Ashik Gowdar and I am a Junior in Mechanical Engineering. I am one of the Peer Advisors at CDC this year. I’ll be blogging my first hand experiences at WPI both as a student and a job hunter. So, stay tuned…

I was able to get a co-op position in Blue Ridge Numerics, Inc., Charlottesville, VA last spring. Finding a co-op was a lot of endless hours and frustration. But, CDC helped me out in putting together a good resume, cover letter and walking me through how to use Job finder (I found my job through Job finder!). The co-op itself was a great experience. It has opened up numerous possibilities for me. So, I spent the summer in Virginia. It was beautiful. Work from 9 to 5 and tennis from 7 to 12. I also found some time to pursue Cricket (the sport!) and managed to break a finger while playing. All in all, it was a memorable summer. Now am back in school looking forward for the upcoming year…

One of the things I am really excited about is the Fall Career Fair. I am curious to see how my co-op experience will impact my job search this year… Stay tuned for more…
