Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff!

Filed in Life at WPI by on May 5, 2014

Hey Everyone!!!

I CAN”T BELIEVE IT! One day left! This term flew by, I feel like it was just yesterday when I was sitting here writing my first blog and now I’m writing basically my last one. Wow it’s crazy!

So some of you may be done with some finals and final projects, while others may have everything tomorrow (I’m sorry!). Trust me I know how stressful finals are that is. Finishing up my 8th (glup!) term here at WPI (don’t even remind me that it’s half over!) I’ve gone through the following thoughts:

1.) WHAT! We NEVER learned that! Why is it on the FINAL?

2.)WHY must we learn the bulk of the material THE DAY BEFORE the final exam!

3.) Oh no! I feel like I’m going to NR! Should I change my major?

4.) WHAT? I’ve been doing that wrong THE WHOLE TIME?

5.) I CAN’T DO THIS!

These are at least the thoughts I’VE had during finals here! And I know, sometimes it is scary and stressful and uncertain, but trust me YOU CAN DO IT!

DON’T SWEAT THE SMALL STUFF!

Do your best and leave the rest is a saying my mother tells me every time finals rolls around. Finals will end and everything will be okay. Even if you don’t do as well as you wanted or even if you do NR, it is NOT the end of the world. It doesn’t mean that you don’t know anything. It just means that you had a tough term (and trust me, this term has been VERY rough for me!)

Here is some advice my mom left me for this finals period:

1.) BE POSITIVE! – You CAN do this! You’ll probably end up doing better than you thought too. 🙂

2.) SLEEP! – All-nighters won’t accomplish anything. Get a good night sleep so you can be alert tomorrow for your tests and presentations!

3.) EAT HEALTHY! – Ice cream and chips taste great but in my experience eating healthy makes you feel better. When you feel better you perform better!

And finally:

4.) DONT WISH YOUR TIME AWAY! – Make the best of the situation you are in. Spend time with friends and ENJOY your last few days on campus!

Until Next Time,

Gianna
