Company Info Sessions
Hey Everyone!
I hope you’re all doing well and surviving midterms week (I’m making it through – slowly but surely). I don’t know about you all, but I am already ready for the weekend.
I hope everyone had a successful career fair! I know I did! I always enjoy learning about different career opportunities there are out there and talking to the recruiters at the different companies. I may be weird, but I really enjoy career fairs and networking.
That’s why I’m so excited that in the next few weeks, we have even more opportunities to meet recruiters from different companies! There are 17 companies currently signed up for company information sessions between now and the end of A-Term. And that number is constantly increasing.
Company info sessions are a great way to learn more about a company and do additional networking! It can even help you do your cover letter research for the company. More often than not, the companies doing info sessions are also doing on campus interviews. If they have interview slots open, and you’ve shown interest, they may offer you an interview!
So you may be wondering, “Hey, Gianna. I already went to the career fair. Should I go to their info session too?” – The answer – YES! Companies often take attendance at the info sessions, so they can see who went. And sometimes there is free food. Who doesn’t like free food?
You may also be wondering, “do I need to do anything to prepare?” The answer – YES! Research the company before hand and bring a few prepared questions, as there is often a question/answer session. Good questions can help you stand out! Also bring your resume and wear business casual – you never know who you may meet!
I hope by this point, I’ve convinced you to check out the upcoming company info sessions. Your final question may be – “Where do I find out when these info sessions are?” The answer – JobFinder! Check out the “Events” tab and then “Information Sessions.” There is also an option to add the session directly to your calendar. Which in my opinion is pretty convenient.
As always, good luck with your job searching.
Until next time,
<3 Gianna
