2021 Projects — Winter

In C term 2021, Professors Beth Eddy and Sarah Stanlick advised five student teams conducting projects remotely from Worcester, Massachusetts.  In spite of the continuing constraints of the COVID-19 pandemic, we were able to conduct two projects with London hosts. We conducted one project on abandoned munitions in collaboration with Oxfam and the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) at the University of London.  We conducted a second project on Foetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASD) with the National Organisation for FASD (NOFAS-UK).

Emily Bubencik, Julia Ormerod, Maxwell Westreich, and Evan Llewellyn created a web portal for tracking organizations and munitions information for Oxfam and SOAS.  Their final report is available here.

Cosette Domkofski, Molly Folino, Katie Lin, Laura Staugler, and Rachelle Wailes developed a blueprint for a media campaign designed to educate 16-25 year-olds in the UK about the effects of drinking during pregnancy.  Their final report is available here and additional supplemental information here.

We would like to thank our project hosts at Oxfam, SOAS, and NOFAS for making these collaborative research opportunities available to our students especially during the difficulties of the pandemic.
