I’m on LinkedIn!

Yesterday I joined LinkedIn. LinkedIn is a social media website for professional connections. People can introduce connections to each other, providing the opportunity for one to network with more people through someone they already know. I am not experienced with the site but next week is LinkedIn Week at the CDC! On Wednesday there is a workshop titled LinkedIn and Your Job Search. It’s all about how college students can use the social networking site to their advantage in the pursuit of work.

I’m excited to learn of the benefits of LinkedIn and join the CDC’s LinkedIn group! If you want to get on LinkedIn you should attend the event on Wednesday! Also, the CDC has a document on JobFinder that outlines how to create a LinkedIn account and has tips for what to do and what not to do on the site. Start there.

At the end of next week I’ll let you know what I’ve learned!
